CLIsource
A resource for command line users
A gui is like a machine. Click the button and it does one thing. Opening a shell is like rubbing a magic lamp. When you see the prompt
user@here>
it is really saying 'Oh great and mighty master, what tasks would you have me perform for you?'.
So all you have to do is ask and it will be done.

This is a hastily put together collection of my bookmarks on the subject of the command line interface. When I starting working on XMLterm, I was unable to find a good web resource for the CLI. So I put this together. If you would like to see a link added or have other comments, please provide feedback. I hope you find this collection useful!

*This is work in progress*

Newbie?
If you are new to command line interface (CLI), or would like to learn more about it, read one of the tutorials. The sites Acme Labs and Blekko.net even provide simple web interfaces to a Unix shell.
The command line isn't only for Unix users though; check out the Windows and MacOS pages.

Expert?
There is a choice of terminals and shells for the expert user. There are also essays, articles, and archived discussions for your reading pleasure. The TechNotes contain arcane information like terminal escape sequences.
